Stand with me

Dear Friends, God knows exactly what he's doing, but sometimes I am left wondering. As I look at leaving Costa Rica, I think of many things.

How grateful I am for all of the wonderful prayer and support I've received during this two years. I think of all the things I have learned and am in the process of learning. I dream of work yet to be done and the many needs which God alone can meet. I dream about many things.

Stand With me
I am infuriated by the work of the enemy to steal, destroy and kill. He has been hard at work, but we as a church can work twice as hard if we are based in the Rock of Ages. It is through the strength that comes from our God alone, that we can be ministers of healing, justice, grace and love. We can be ambassadors of hope and there are great heroes of faith who have effected incredible changes on our behalf. Together we will all rejoice in the heavens at the marvelous things in which God has shown himself strong.

recently I wrote a few different poems as a reflection on some of the injustices that the vulnerable have lived with. Things that have happened to rob innocence and to support habits. These things can be broken by the power of the cross, and I stand on his promises. Many have already been ministered to by the blood of Jesus, but there are yet many who live without that comfort.

Injustice

Injustice has been done
Painting a pretty picture
Becomes the masquerade
Deep inside were tears
Now only cold, lifeless

Many nights of dry heaving
Nothing to eat or drink
Whatever was there nauseating
Inhumane humanity

Longing for freedom
Has almost died
Along with the beating
The last tear she cried

The Streets

An elderly lady stares
Blankly smiling up
From her perched position
On the Cathedral's steps

Extends her palms
Hoping for a handout
Without qualms
I shift, shaken

Money or food
Maybe some warmth
Don't be rude
Give her your scarf

She smiles, she sighs
Her small hand waves
She sells it, she buys
Another three days
